There are many general beliefs about managers, but many are not true.

1) Speaking first or last? Context and situation matter. The article expects that there is a hierarchy in place, with a strong separation of power. So what the boss will say, is automatically the law. I can't see it these days. Boss and people are equal, consensus matters, good argument matters, and the boss is not automatically right.

2) I doubt by speaking last I do any good to anyone. Sometimes yes, but mostly it does not matter.

3) I was in an event full of managers, and all were trained that way. The facilitator asked the question, and everybody started to look around, who should speak, because each of them wanted to be the last one. Then the silence in the room.
