I am one of those higher degree holders 50+. I am out of work for more than 2 years - applied to 1.150 job posts and got exactly 6 job interviews. And perhaps 20 of those short ones which I do not count and where they ask only 2 questions: expected salary and contract type employee/b2b contract. Whatever you say, it is wrong. I was told - too old, too overqualified or both. I am not sure if I was ever interviewed by somebody older than 30. But when I applied for Director position, I was interviewed by HR trainee. A short talk, we have had not much to talk about. In 80+% of cases I was ghosted, the rest were those autogenerated responses - thank you good bye.
